"Everybody’s business" A solidarity walk to raise awareness and give voice to silent victims of domestic violence was held on Sunday 4th December 2016.
This activity was organised by the NGOs network under the chairmanship of the Commissioner on Domestic Violence Mr Joe Gerada The National Council of Women with the support of the Voluntary Organisation Council would like to invite applicants to register for the First Aid Course which will start on Thursday 24th November 2016 between 9.00am to 12.00pm at NCW Centre Blata l-Bajda.

During the evening the Council honoured Mrs Doris Bingley for her professional and outstanding commitment towards the National Council of Women and for her constant initiatives in promoting Gender Equality at National, European and International level.
The conference, which brought together representatives from political parties, Members of Parliament, policymakers and academics, as well as representatives from civil society and the media, was organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), in partnership with the House of Representatives, the Commissioner for the Promotion of Equality and the National Council of Women of Malta.
Ms Gemma Siroll from St John Ambulance Training Branch will conduct the sessions. Places are limited on first come first served basis.
The First Aid course is recognized by The Malta Qualifications Council, and by local Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
But it requires the dedication of all of us: Member State national and local authorities, International Organisations, civil society organisations, academia, businesses, trade unions, police, health professionals, social care professionals and all European men and women to fight to make violence against women a thing of the past.
More than an awareness-raising campaign, this initiative will support and engage all stakeholders in combatting this problem.
